Playbill reports:
A new North American tour of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music is set to launch September 9, 2025 at The Kennedy Center. Directed by Tony winner Jack O’Brien, the tour will continue into 2026, with stops in more than 55 cities.
O’Brien directed the musical’s most recent tour of the U.S., which ran from 2015-2016. Danny Mefford will also return as choreographer.
The creative team will also include set designer Douglas Schmidt, costume designer Jane Greenwood, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Jonathan Deans, musical supervisor Andy Einhorn, and hair and wig designer Tom Watson, with casting by The Telsey Office.
Concord Theatricals and NETworks Presentations are producing.
Casting and a full itinerary will be announced at a later date.
