We partnered with Gabrielle Reyes of One Great Vegan to create a crisp apple strudel – one of our favorite things! Whip up this tasty treat for your next The Sound of Music watch party!

Crisp Apple Strudel

Ingredients Needed:

Peeled Apple Slices (2 Apples)
Vegan Butter (¼ Cup)
Organic Sugar (½ Cup)
Ground Cinnamon (½ Tablespoon)

Ground Nutmeg (⅛ Teaspoon)
Dried Cranberries, Soaked in Warm Water (¼ Cup)
Sliced Almonds (⅓ Cup)
Panko Bread Crumbs (⅓ Cup)
Crescent Dough Sheet (1 Sheet)

1. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together.

2. Skin and thinly slice the apples.

3. Mix together 3 tablespoons of butter, apple slices, the cinnamon sugar mixture, dried cranberries and sliced almonds.

Roll out the dough and sprinkle breadcrumbs down the middle vertically to soak up any extra juices.

4. Place the sugar apple mixture into the middle on top of the breadcrumbs.

5. Make thin horizontal slices around the vertically placed apples.

6. Crossing them together, cover the apples with the thin slices of dough.

Bake the strudel at 375 degrees F for 18-32 minutes, or until the dough is cooked and golden brown.

7. Top off the apple strudel with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
