We partnered with Chelsea Foy of Lovely Indeed to create Vanillekipferl! These vanilla crescent cookies are popular in Austria, the homeland of the von Trapp family. Bake them ahead to enjoy during your next viewing of The Sound of Music!
AUSTRIAN CRESCENT COOKIES
Ingredients Needed:
2 cups white flour
1 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup + 1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 egg yolks
pinch of salt
1. Cut the butter into the flour with a pastry cutter.
2. Add the ground almonds, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, vanilla, egg yolks and salt. Knead with your hands until the dough comes together.
3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes and preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

4. Create 1" balls from the dough, roll them into a cylinder, and shape into a crescent. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
