2013 Original Broadway Production

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella made its Broadway debut with this new adaptation for the stage, featuring a new book by Douglas Carter Beane. Opening at the Broadway Theatre on March 3, 2013, the dazzling production starred Laura Osnes as Cinderella and Santino Fontana as her Prince, under the direction of Mark Brokaw. The sumptuous costumes by William Ivey Long – including dresses that magically transformed in front of the audience’s eyes – won the Tony Award. Throughout the show’s run, the cast featured a list of exciting, recognizable performers, including Fran Drescher, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nene Leakes, Sherri Shepherd and, in a special turn, Keke Palmer making her Broadway debut in the title role. Following its Broadway run, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella enjoyed a long North American tour.

Recorded at MSR Studios in New York City on May 17 and 18, 2013, the Original Broadway Cast album of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella was released just a few short months after a magical opening night. The recording features the production’s enchanting cast, led by Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana, featuring Victoria Clark, Ann Harada, Peter Bartlett and Harriet Harris. Musical supervision was by David Chase, musical direction by Andy Einhorn and new orchestrations by Danny Troob.
